A few days back there were quite a few rumors flying around about Hearthstone Heroes of Warcraft. Many people were speculating about an upcoming expansion to Hearthstone Heroes of Warcraft which would bring new card to add to our Hearthstone Decks along with a variety of new mechanics. Recently in Hearthstone news, it was finally confirmed by Blizzard that Hearthstone Heroes of Warcraft does have an expansion in the works that is titled “Hearthstone: Journey to Un’Goro” will be released in April which will bring new Hearthstone Cards and Mechanics to the game.
We highly recommend you get your Hearthstone Deck Builder ready since it’s confirmed that the Hearthstone: Journey to Un’Goro expansion will be bring a total of 135 new cards. Here’s what we currently know about the upcoming cards and the new mechanics they bring to Hearthstone Heroes of Warcraft.
One of the many new features coming along with Hearthstone: Journey to Un’Goro is the introduction of quest cards. Quest Cards are earned by players rather than having to pay for them by accomplishing a task or multiple tasks. To earn a Quest Card you’ll have to complete one or multiple quests like the good old days which is what has everyone excited for some good old gameplay. The quest range from simple summoning quests to taking down a set number of enemy cards. During the announcement for the upcoming expansion for Hearthstone Heroes of Warcraft the only quest that was shown was Awaken The Maker which requires the player to Summon 7 Deathrattle Minions and offers the new card Amara Warden Of Hope. Going the card’s stat’s this is one card you definitely want in your Hearthstone Card Deck.
New Adapt Ability For Minions
Blizzard hasn’t added a new ability to Hearthstone since back in 2015 so we’re pretty excited for this one. When a minion uses the adapt ability the player will have the option to choose an upgrade for the minion from a pool of 10 upgrades, which include the following:
- Crackling Shield – grants Divine Shield
- Flaming Claws – grants plus three attack
- Lightning Speed – grants windfury
- Liquid Membrane – minion cannot be targeted by spells or Hero Powers
- Living Spores – grants “Deathrattle: Summon two 1/1 plants”
- Massive – grants Taunt
Naturally, we can expect this new ability to be used as a battlecry or a standalone ability that can either be triggered or be self0triggered when the card is played.
New Type Of Minion: Elemental
As if there weren’t already enough different kinds of minions in Hearthstone Heroes of Warcraft, Blizzard has gone ahead and added a whole new type which is currently known as Elemental. Luckily, this will round-up old cards like Ragnaros and Unbound Elemental into the same Type which will definitely help when you are sorting out your hearthstone deck builder.
Shaman’ Get Stronger – Again
If you’re someone that finally wanted the Shaman class to lose some firepower you are clearly not going to like this new change. Though this doesn’t add anything new to the game but it does make the Shaman class much more powerful. The Shaman spell “Volcano” can be casted with only 5 mana but does an extremely high damage of 15 to all minions on the field. Needless to say, this does come with some consequences. Since the card has an overload of “2”, this means that the player can’t use mana from 2 of their mana crystals on the next turn but even then the advantages are far outweighed by the disadvantages.
As more information comes out on the upcoming expansion, we’ll keep you up to date with all upcoming hearthstone news.
